An accident or injury can occur in any part of your home. Some safety hazards are obvious X such as a toy truck left lying at the top of the stairs. Others are not so easily identified X such as a stairway railing that has become loose. According to Safe Kids Canada, Almost 40,000 children and youth are seen in hospital Emergency departments every year due to home injuries. Another 500 die from home injuries each year. The majority of the injuries occur in children under the age of 5, who spend the greatest amount of time in the home.
